Its history goes back a long way: we began developing PLA injection in 2009, in the early days of injectable biosourced materials. The difficulties were many.
Following a long process of successive tests, we have come up with an eco-responsible product that is conclusive in terms of strength, durability and transparency.
By 2020, the unique assembly method and the design had been completed.
The covid period slowed us down somewhat, but enabled us to perfect our sourcing. The PLA we chose, after numerous tests, is a guarantee of solidity and transparency, and of course has NF EN 14995 certification (biodegradability in an industrial environment).
We wanted to continue to give priority to our historical subcontractors: the assembly and packaging of our card covers are carried out by structures such as ESAT or ADAPEI, or even penitentiary centers promoting social inclusion.
Our manual assembly method contributes to the local economy and job creation. This operation does not use machine reworking (nor materials harmful to the environment) and therefore consumes less energy.
Our PLA is part of a global CSR approach: its use saves fossil resources, which significantly reduces CO2 and GHG emissions compared to traditional plastic.
What's more, PLA 's compostability means it has a virtually neutral carbon footprint: once collected and placed in the required conditions (in an industrial environment in accordance with standard NF 14995), it degrades to become agricultural compost.
And let's not forget the short circuit (French manufacturing - Brittany region) and the social aspect, with the employment of workers in integration situations.
